Hey everyone,
Just wanted to wish all of you here on DA a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year for when it comes around.
These last few days I've been working a fair bit, and it's been pretty awesome I must say. Earning money. It's good.

But yeah, I'm going to be going off to Phillip Island for a week (From the 2nd to the 9th) and will be taking a lot of photos then (hopefully...). Which is great because I really haven't taken any new photos lately. Don't know what it is, but I just don't feel like it. Maybe it's a creative block that I'm going through at the moment. Anyway, hopefully this trip will break that and I'll be able to take some really good photos.

Last time I didn't have a ND filter, but I now own a Hoya ND400 and will be taking this, which will hopefully allow me to take some better quality waterscape shots. I really wanted to buy some Graduated Neutral Density (GND) filters, but I never got around to purchasing any, so to combat this I'm just going to take multiple photos of the same scene and then combine them together so that all parts of the image are exposed properly. It will take longer but it should still look OK (fingers crossed)

Anyway, I just wanna thank everyone who has commented, faved and viewed my photos this year. So... Thank You! I mean it was this year that I passed 10,000 pageviews and got a DD tagirocks.deviantart.com/art/T… that this year coming will be great for all of you.

Well, it has been a long time since I've posted a journal here on DA.
Don't know why, I suppose I just can't really be bothered. Sorry DA.

But getting back to stuff...
I am now on holidays, so I'm going to try and take as many photos as possible, and you should be seeing a lot more submissions from me in the next few weeks. I have a LOT of photos from various trips that I have taken over the last few years, and some of them are actually not too bad, so I will be looking through all of these and submitting those that I think are actually reasonable.

I actually am looking to try and expand my photography to include portraits, not just natural photography like waterscapes and landscapes. This is a completely new area for me, and has kind of overwhelmed me slightly. I really have very little idea of what kind of flashes to buy or any other accessories that go with taking portraits. If anyone reading this has an ideas on how I could get started, please let me know. Any information will be appreciated.

That said, I will still be submitting nature photos as well. I'm actually considering buying some Kenko Extension Tubes for my Nikon D90. They're much cheaper than buying a good-quality macro lens and ultimately they yield similar results. Also if anybody has any opinions or information about these please let me know as well.
